What Pamphlets to Take

Below is a list of suggested pamphlets and materials to take with you to CPC or PI engagements.

Some of our regular events already have a supply of AA literature – either left over from a previous A.A. speaker, or obtained on their own.  Double check with your contact/facilitator to see what they have, and take only what you need to fill in the blanks.

online_resourcesThe recommended literature for PI/CPC should be in the Committees’ supply cabinet at the back of the meeting room at Central Office.  If not, additional pamphlets are in the general literature racks at the Office.  Take only what you need, and ask the Central Office volunteer to charge the pamphlets to EGSC under PI/CPCs’ account, and return whatever is unused to the cabinet again for others to use.

Please!  If supplies are lacking or low, inform the Committee Chair so it can be remedied –> pi.cpc.chair@areacommittees.org

If the event or organization is not listed below, please reference the one that best represents your event, and if in doubt – ask a committee member!

For all events, you should bring your Big Book, and a few recent meeting lists.

The Online Resources page can be added as a pamphlet, and hung up at all presentations.

PI – CPC Booth

There’s not much difference between setting up a booth at A.A. Round-ups, Conventions and/or Assemblies, versus Non-AA functions such as Homeless Connect, a Pharmacy Convention, other Medical Conventions, or Union/Trade Conventions.

Cooperating with non-alcoholic professionals is an effective way to carry the message to the suffering alcoholic. Such people often meet the alcoholic in places where A.A. is not present. Through professionals, alcoholics may be reached who might otherwise never find the program, or they may be reached sooner with the help of informed non-A.A.s.Committees on the area or local level actively seek ways to make contact with professional people and set up programs to increase knowledge and understanding of Alcoholics Anonymous.       *Cooperation with the Professional Community WORKBOOK

At A.A. gatherings, the primary purpose of the booth is to show our fellows how Alcoholics Anonymous cooperates, not affiliates with the Professional Community, and to demonstrate how Public Information works. Our booth demonstrates in a tangible way, what we are, and what we do.

Here’s a suggested list of what to take:

Banner (long vertical screen with stand – comes in a black fabric sleeve)
Literature Rack
Survey Board
CPC Stand-up “Talking to Professionals” board
*check with your facilitator/contact to see if they’re providing a table.

These items are stored in the “pamphlet closet” in the Central Office main space where the microwave is.

Our literature is found in the PI-CPC cabinet at the back of the meeting room. The pamphlets you take will depend on the venue/audience. Below is a sampling:

    Area Committees

This site began trials in late 2016 as a WordPress.com blog.   It became an interactive site meant to aid service committees in their communications and planning. Perhaps overly broad in scope, its design was intended to maintain a consistent point of contact between outreach committees, the committee members themselves (forum), and those they interacted with. Use of this site was ever mindful of the spirit of anonymity, using only first names and last initial.

The domain name was a known issue, only the booking concept was adopted locally, and the site was mothballed in mid-2019.
