Monthly PI/CPC Events
June Events
This begins a new type of post for this site. The listings are much the same, but when speakers bookings are approved, the current post updates itself automatically, adding their name to the event booked, All that is required of our speakers is to check in on this site for events you feel interested in volunteering for, and a willingness to be of service.
** New, One Time Checkbox ** When booking your event, there is a new checkbox just above “One Click to Volunteer”. This is to comply with new laws out of the European Union. For our purposes, there is no “information” being submitted, but for most users of this system, there would be credit card data, thus the concern. So, place a check in the box, click the purple button and you’ll never see it again. Thanks go out to Linda C for bring this to my attention.
Junes’ focal point is the Professional Luncheon on the 20th, of course.
If you know of a professional in your daily life you think would be interested in attending, we are asking that you invite them to attend. The lunch is free for the professionals, but for A.A. members attending, it is $25, just so people are clear about that.
Our committee has developed a few ways to contact them.
- You can e-mail/text them the link to the registration page on our website >> Professional Luncheon Registration << along with a short introduction from yourself saying who you are. You should be able to cut and paste that link. Please be sure they know who it is coming from so they are expecting it.
You can download the invitation pdf >> Luncheon Invitation << by clicking the download button on the page that comes up. Then either attach it to an e-mail, or print it out and hand deliver it.- You can send your contact information to Christie N. who will send our online invitation to them directly.

This is the month I began work with tags and shortcodes – little snippets of code that when put together, pull information from the database and display it as desired. Yay!!!!
I know… you care… but it means these posts now almost write themselves, thus removing the last significant hurdle of maintenance for the speaker coordinator. New events need to be created as they are developed by our committee, so there is a requirement for learning that aspect, but, either annually or otherwise, many are repeat events and are already created.
I have learned to compare this adventure to the building of a house. Doing so requires intensive effort during creation, and a different knowledge base, but once the structure is built, it becomes a matter of maintenance that is possible by the majority, and a handy-man gets called only once in a while.
The spirit of rotation is paramount to our society remaining relevant to today, so service roles need to be passed on with ease for if we wish to maintain enthusiasm. I believe I’ve now achieved that for our committee speaker coordinator. The position has essentially been re-written, yet in terms of actual effort, it now requires about one fourth the time as when I began, and thank God for that!
With this website, the potential reach of our committee has been amplified exponentially. As its existence is accepted as a permanent feature on the internet landscape, the only direction from here is up, and after hearing our latest delegates report, the tide is rising in favor of encouragement of use of the internet as a whole.

tried to book PI at St. Albert for June 10, no booking received note came up. Linda
Ok, I am lost…. I tried to book as PI speaker at St Albert for June 10, I received no confirmation of booking.
I think it has something to the do with a new check-box found at the bottom of the booking page regarding collection of information (which we don’t do). You have to put a check mark in the box for the booking request to go through.
